Eco-friendly Wedding w/ Self-Production and Recycling

Giovanna and Riccardo reached out to me in the spring of 2024. They were planning to get married in mid-September of the same year and were looking for a photographer. We arranged a meeting, and they began telling me the details.

They had decided on a civil ceremony with about 70 guests. But the truly interesting part was all in the details.

The Outfits

Giovanna would be wearing a vintage-style dress, while Riccardo would be wearing a suit (and shoes) that had belonged to his grandfather.

The Reception

They themselves would be setting up the long banquet table to welcome their guests. They told me they had a few years of experience in event planning, and their time working as waitstaff had taught them how to create setups.

The Table

The dinner table would be set with plates, glasses, and cutlery gathered from their relatives’ attics. In fact, every plate would be different from the next, including the glasses and water pitchers.

The Dinner

Yes, they would be doing all the cooking themselves. Lasagna for 70 people!

I loved photographing these two and their wedding. They brought to life some values that are very dear to me, such as reuse, recycling, minimizing waste, and self-production.
